Selecting the right conservatory
There are several types of conservatory fitting and designs to choose from when you decide to invest in one. Depending on the style of your home and how much space you have in which to build a conservatory, there is a conservatory design to suit your taste and budget. Victorian and Edwardian style conservatories are probably two of the most popular designs as they offer high vaulted ceilings and large windows, making the room incredibly bright and airy. Other styles include P-shaped conservatories, with a larger section at the end in the shape of a P, gable ended designs and lean to conservatories. Lean to conservatories are ideal for homes with small outside spaces as consist of 3 walls and a ceiling which leans in to the house. They are simplistic and a relatively inexpensive way to add an extra room to your home.
How Pinnacle Windows can give you the perfect conservatory
Once you have selected the design of your new conservatory, work can begin to give you the extra room and added value to your home. Plans will be drawn up and foundations dug to support the conservatory walls. Depending in the style of conservatory you have selected, you will either have brick walls coming to normal window height, or smaller amount of brick work to support larger windows. Our conservatory window services encompass the installation of glass to the windows and roof of your conservatory. Once the brick work is complete and windows installed then our conservatory door services team will install the finishing touch to your new conservatory, the doors. All our workmen are dedicated to constructing superior conservatories which will not only stand the test of time, but adhere to the highest standards in energy efficiency. So not only will you have a stylish and contemporary living area, but one which is warm all year round too.
Pinnacle Windows can also provide you with conservatory repairs or conservatory replacement services. Whether you have had an inferior conservatory fitted in the past which is draughty and poorly built, or your conservatory has become damaged due to poor weather, our team of dedicated conservatory installation servicemen will come and rectify the problem; giving you back your extra room.
Are conservatories cold in winter?
Unfortunately, it is a fact that conservatories are relatively ambiently cold during the winter. The sun hitting the windows is the main source of heat for your conservatory, which is drastically diminished in the winter. There are measures you can put in place to minimise if not negate the cold temperatures. Blinds can create a barrier between the heat in the room and the cold outside as a form of insulation. If you already have a conservatory, you could also look at having radiators installed to keep the room warm all year round. When looking to build a brand-new modern conservatory, you can get more heat efficient materials that make a conservatory much more comfortable all year round. Originally, older conservatories used polycarbonate roofs that would act like a greenhouse in the summer, and a freezer in the winter. Glass is more premium, but better at insulation. An alternative could also be to tile the roof, it will make the conservatory cooler in summer, but also trap more heat from escaping through the roof. It will really depend on what you need from your conservatory, so we would recommend speaking to pinnacle to discuss your options.
Are conservatories worth it?
If you are a growing family and you need more space, then a conservatory can be the most cost-effective way of adding this space. The conservatory can be used as a dining room, a living room, or a children’s play room. Alternatively, if you like to host friends, then it can be a comfortable way to cater to larger parties. Aside from the increased amount of interior space and having a well-lit room, conservatories also have a positive impact on your house’s price. Homes are usually the most expensive asset a person will ever own and adding to its value only adds to your wealth. An increase of 5-15% in house prices will add up over the years you live there.
